Mumbai-Pune Expressway: Death Trap

We have read in news paper the death of two known Marathi film actors with two year old son on Mumbai Pune expressway. There are many similar incidents.

Many people are expressing their concern and suggesting many precautions to avoid accidents.

The IRB responsible for  the maintenance of the express way  have put black topping for all the viaduct /bridges. This mismatch in colour may be confusing the motorist causing fatal accidents

I find the solution lies in making of Bombay Pune express way .Mr.Momin  in-charge of the project  has researched in the context of avoidance of colour difference over the surface of express high way.

During the construction he has insisted all the civil engineering structures on the expressway like bridges/viaducts to be laid with concrete because he wanted all the road look like  grey concrete in colour

. His thinking was different shades of colour confuses the motorman and may lead to accident.
Mr Momin was facing the problem of severe concrete cracking due to vibration on the bridges/viaducts

. He at that time approached ACC for the solution we suggested grouted macadam called ACCMarg as the solution and laid ACCMarg in three viaducts in Lonawalla. It was a successful solution.

ACCMarg is a product of ACC. It is a composite of bitumen and cement to get flexo-rigid properties. The specially developed grout is poured in the voids of bitumen macadam.
